I remember many years ago, from my childhood, a newspaper article in which an African leader stopped at the grave of a dead soldier and said through his tears, “Africa is killing his sons. I don’t know what he meant by that, and although I thought about it a lot, pretty much, I haven’t been able to unravel the mystery of those words yet. Now, today, they're coming back to me at this minute. I want to borrow them. I want you to write this on my grave as a tombstone inscription, "Africa Kills Your Day." Good tombstone inscription, right? Mysterious? Definite? A feather stroke of a genius. I believe. I'm sure you will agree with me. "Africa Kills Your Day." That's why it's called the Dark Continent, isn't it?
